public interface RectanglePacker

Can pack integer-valued rectangles into a 2D area, essentially implementing a bin-packing algorithm

Method Detail

fits

boolean fits(int w,
             int h)

Checks whether a rectangle with given size will fit in the pack. The search is cached so that a following call to pack(int, int) is an O(1) operation.

Parameters:

w - width

h - height

Returns:

true if fits, false otherwise

pack

Rectangle pack(int w,
               int h)

Packs a rectangle with given dimensions, returning the destination rectangle.

Parameters:

w - width

h - height

Returns:

fit location, null if it doesn't fit

clear

void clear()

Clears all rectangles, to start over

getWidth

int getWidth()

Returns:

width of bounding rectangle

getHeight

int getHeight()

Returns:

height of bounding rectangle
