DRESSING PROTOCOL

DRESSING PROTOCOL: COMPUTER IN PACK

0. Bathroom and water check

1. Power bar - connect to Japanese electrical adaptor

2. Mixer - with power supply and audio connections to Rit's sound system

2.1 Turn speakers on (flick switch down)

3. Fresh batteries in all wireless components (head mic, guitar bug)

4. Wireless microphone setup - check volume is 70%

5. Computer to mixer line 1 & 2

6. Wireless to mixer line 3 & 4

7. Monitor speaker to front of stage

8. Monitor audio connection to mixer headphones out

9. Connect head mic for audio check

10. Attach belt to backpack

11. Computer setup:
a) DIVA: Turn DIVA computer on
b) DIVA: Select/Create the computer-to-computer network "divas-macbook" - password is "divas"
c) DIVA: Confirm sharing
d) Network address: divas-macbook.local
e) SID: Join diva's network
f) SID: Start up Chicken of the VNC
g) DIVA: Start up sleepless
h) DIVA: Check for "prevent sleep with lid closed"
i) DIVA: Dim the screen and shut the lid
12. Put laptop in backpack and fasten velcro
13. Insert Patriot with power switch up - do not turn on
14. Plug in Patriot source - tie up extra cable
15. Plug null modem cable into Patriot and laptop - tie up extra cable - fasten with velcro on left side of laptop
16. Attach glove connect box - fasten in top left side of backpack, tie up cable, plug usb cable into laptop, connect the control box to the cable on the shoulder
17. Attach wireless transmitter to belt
18. Change batteries in bluetooth module - double check polarity!!
19. Put insole in shoe, attach bluetooth box to leg with wrap, turn on bluetooth module
20. Put on the wireless headset
21. Marguerite puts on jacket
22. Marguerite dons the backpack
23. Put the belt through the tails on the jacket and fasten belt
24. Adjust the chest strap
25. Put on left glove and attach to cable on sleeve
26. Confirm left glove works using a text editor
27. Confirm freshly-charged battery for CyberGlove
28. Put on arm band for CyberGlove
29. Put on liner glove and CyberGlove, attach sensor to "Sensor 1" on Patriot
30. Turn glove on
31. Strain relieve cable and tape
32. Turn headset on
33. Sound check on headset - check mic position for pops
34. Attach guitar bug to laptop, turn on
35. Set audio levels on laptop to 50%
36. Confirm Patriot is OFF

"THE SCARY STUFF" 37. Load DIVA_ForTouch 38. Load Marguerite's profile 39. Check ports for glove and tracker 40. Check footpedal is on - should see 0/1 in interface 40. Switch on Patriot - wait for light to turn green 41. Put sensor in forward hemisphere 42. Click "Initialize" ONCE - wait 10.5 seconds 43. Click audio button on user interface 44. Check audio 45. Keep focus on DIVA_ForTouch (for left hand glove) 46. Shut down Chicken of the VNC on Sid's computer 47. Do a vowel position check, adjust belt

PERFORMANCE 1. Bob starts soundtrack 2. Marguerite starts outside of light, steps into light

CLOSING PROTOCOL: COMPUTER IN PACK

1. Reconnect to VNC 2. Click "Close" 3. Turn sound off on mixer 4. Quit DIVA_ForTouch 5. Turn off Patriot 6. Turn off glove 7. Turn off head mic and guitar bug 8. Disconnect guitar bug 9. Disconnect head mic 10. Remove head mic 11. Remove power supply from Patriot 12. Disconnect left hand glove and remove glove 13. Remove CyberGlove and arm band, remove cable from patriot 14. Disconnect touch glove connect box from jacket 15. Disconnect chest strap 16. Unfasten belt, remove from jacket tails, take off belt 17. Doff backpack 18. Remove jacket 19. Remove headphone transmitter 20. Unscrew source from Patriot 21. Unscrew null modem cable from Patriot 22. Remove Patriot from backpack 23. Remove touch glove usb cable from laptop 24. Remove connect box from backpack 25. Unplug Patriot usb cable from laptop 26. Remove null modem cable 27. Remove laptop from backpack 28. Remove belt from harness 29. Turn off foot switch 30. Remove bluetooth and insole 31. Raise brightness on laptop 32. Shut down laptop

DRESSING PROTOCOL: GLOVE OUT OF PACK

0. Bathroom and water check 1. Power bar - connect to Japanese electrical adaptor 2. Mixer - with power supply and audio connections to Rit's sound system 2 a. Turn speakers on (flick switch down) 3. Fresh batteries in all wireless components (head mic, guitar bug) 4. Wireless microphone setup - check volume is 70% 5. Computer to mixer line 1 & 2 6. Wireless to mixer line 3 & 4 7. Monitor speaker to front of stage 8. Monitor audio connection to mixer headphones out 9. Connect head mic for audio check 10. Put insole in shoe, attach bluetooth box to leg with wrap, turn on bluetooth module 11. Fasten headset transmitter to belt 12. Connect source to Patriot 13. Connect sensor on glove to Patriot in "Sensor 1" 14. Connect Patriot to computer with null modem to usb cable 15. Connect Patriot to power - don't turn on yet 16. Connect usb cable to touch glove connect box, connect box to left hand glove 17. Attach connect box to belt 18. Put on belt 19. Put on the wireless headset 20. Confirm Patriot is off

TROUBLESHOOTING PROTOCOL IF LAPTOP FREEZES:

1. Turn CyberGlove and Patriot off 2. Remove guitar bug from laptop 3. Unplug usb cables 4. Extract laptop from backpack 5. Shut down laptop - hold down power button 6. Turn on laptop 7. Resume from step 11
